The single-story colonnaded porch sourrounds a courtyard called the Paradise. This masterpiece of German Romanesque architecture is located at the shore of Lake Laach inmidst of an active vulcano area. Scientist detected magma raising underneath the lake. Was timely to capture it with my camera before the eruptions…

Today’s evening tour took me to the former church of the Altenberg Abbey, a gothic treasure, just 27 minutes with the sports bike from home. The light was beautiful and the usually crowded place was nearly empty.

No, my first potatoes which I planted ever did not catch covid-19. But who would expect frost in the middle of the (almost) summer? Yes, the Ice Saints still exist and have not yet been swept away by climate change. Reassuring.
