Wednesday, February 17th, 2010The end of Colognes Carnival is marked by the liquidation of the Nubbel, the symbol of all sins and misconducts which the partying people committed during Carnival. The scarecrow is accompanied by a ‘priest’ and a ‘hangman’ who lead the tribunal.

Monday, February 1st, 2010Matongé is part of Ixelles, a well-known municipality of Brussels. Immigrants from Congo named it after a market place in Kinshasa. People always take a bit of home with them when moving to foreign countries. Once, I almost decided to live there, and sometimes I regret having decided against it. What would I have brought there from home?
